About PackSolve

PackSolve is one of the largest, black-owned, diversified industrial packaging groups in the Southern African region. We offer clients full turn-key industrial packaging solutions in three clearly defined markets. We specialise in wooden packaging (crating for heavy industry and mining), steel drum manufacturing (juice concentrate) and packing solutions for the steel industry, which are all involved in the South African export market.

Established in 2014 through the merger of three of South Africa’s leading industrial packaging entities, the company offers solutions using a variety of materials and substrates, including timber, plastics, steel, paper and strapping.

We are fully accredited for ISO 9001 and ISO 45001 ensuring that we reduce your companies risks and promote occupational health and safety forming a fundamental part of our company’s risk management strategy.  This protects our workforce and others under our control, ensures we comply with legal requirements and facilitates continual improvement giving our clients the peace of mind that the services and/or products that we provide meet certain international standards and requirements.

Headquarters

PackSolve’s Gauteng-based headquarters are located in Alrode together with our Alrode manufacturing site. The company also has offices in Middelburg and Nelspruit.
We also operate on select client sites nationally including, but not limited to: Saldanha (Duferco), Middelburg (Columbus), Polokwane (Granor Passi), Alrode (Weir) Edenvale (Grundfos), Vereeniging (Metso).

Human Capital

PackSolve has a staff compliment for 450 full time employees. We have dedicated teams across all levels that provide experience and competency in providing what our customers want by delivering the right solution. Training and upskilling are at the forefront of our strategy to ensure we have the best team in the field. The PackSolve Academy has been introduced to ensure that staff are continuously developed to a higher level throughout the business.

Shareholding

PackSolve is in the fortunate position to have exposure to some of South Africa’s best “Captains of Industry”. We are 100% owned by New Seasons, making us black owned. The partnership between industry experience and sound corporate advice and governance makes PackSolve a strong and resilient service provider.

Sustainability

Sustainability is a primary focus area for the PackSolve Group and the company acknowledges its impacts on the environment and therefore provides processes to minimize these impacts. Our management systems guide our waste programs for paper, steel, timber and plastic. Our timber purchases are from sustainable resources, and our plastics and steel are fully recyclable.

Our drum division take sustainability to new heights, we have designed and developed technology and a drum product that is reusable. A comprehensive LCA was completed by EY – Rotterdam with SGS, providing a third-party audit of our LCA. The drums we sell are 24% less impactful on the environment in comparison to a standard drum.
